John has been a Registered course designer with the USEF for the last 20 years as well as an FEI level 2 Show Jumping Course Designer since 2015. John will explain some basic principals of hunter, jumper and equitation course designing. There will be an opportunity for participants to learn how to cross tape and other techniques to produce courses that can be used for a multitude of goals. John will show how to calculate distances that are logical and create desired results. Sharon believes that trainers and riders will all benefit from understanding the principals of course designing and welcomes any horse enthusiasts from the area. John will provide printed material and discuss theory and practical application from 10 to 12 and then do some demonstrations with riders from 1pm to 3pm.
